β¦ Synopsis
In order to study the effect of partially reflective (albedo) boundary conditions on pattern formation and stability in reaction-diffusion systems, we have analyzed an exactly soluble model of an electrothermal instability: the Ballast resistor. The present results allow a continuous interpolation between the results corresponding to Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions, and they allow qualitative changes in the patterns to be followed. The propagation of waves along an elastic layer of uniform thickness has been an area of active research for many years. Many contributions have been made to the study of small amplitude wave propagation in a linear isotropic elastic layer, almost all in respect of traction-free boundary conditions.
The critical behaviour of an exactly solvable model with developed classical and quantum fluctuations depending on the temperature, the quantum parameter and the space dimension, is studied. The critical exponents on the whole phase diagram, including two multicritical points (quantum and classical)
