✦ Synopsis

To measure matrix elements involving heavy quarks on the lattice, including fn and the B meson decay constant, the dependence on the heavy quark mass must first be extracted analytically. We present the resulting continuum effective field theory action and illustrate its utility by calculating the one-loop renormalization of an arbitrary heavy-light bilinear. We also discuss the limits of the approximation.
