✦ Synopsis

The economic viability of photoelectrochemical cells is examined for two representative systems based on n-type GaAs and n-type CdSe electrodes in contact with aqueous polyselenide and polysulfide electrolytes respectively. Cell fabrication costs for these systems are compared with a test case comprising a sequence of processes in a typical fabrication of silicon p-n junction solar cells. A standardized methodology based on the solar array manu. facturing industry costing standards improved price estimation guideline is employed for the comparison. Under the framework of assumptions implicit in this analysis, photoelectrochemical systems emerge as a viable costcompetitive option to silicon p-n junction solar cells. The sensitivity of the computed cell costs to parameters such as cell efficiency and material costs is discussed.

Various configurations for photoelectrochemical photovoltaic solar cells are reviewed and evaluated. Both flat-plate cells and cells which operate with moderate light concentration are examined. Several novel systems where the electrolyte plays a role in the concentration of light are proposed.

## Abstract We investigate Japanese distribution systems by using a successive monopoly model in which the dealer can increase demand for the commodity. We compare the __Tatene__ system (TS) with the open price system (OPS), and show that in cases where the dealer's power of sales promotion is smal

This paper provides an economic explanation for what determines whether a seller should offer add‐on discounts (e.g., cable TV subscription packages). We construct a monopolistic model with two types of consumer heterogeneity: (i) those who always buy an add‐on when they purchase a base good (β€˜premi
