✦ Synopsis

Abstract

We propose a ratio‐dependent demographic predator–prey model in which also a disease spreads among predators via homogeneous mixing. Equilibria of the system are analysed, numerical evidence shows limit cycles to arise. The disease effects on the model are discussed. Comparisons of these findings with results of some related investigations allow the general conclusion that an infection in either species, prey or predator, may act as a biological control. ## Abstract A predator–prey model with transmissible disease in the prey species is proposed and analysed. The essential mathematical features are analysed with the help of equilibrium, local and global stability analyses and bifurcation theory. We find four possible equilibria. One is where the po

Clinical diagnoses of complex diseases may often encompass multiple genetically heterogeneous disorders. One way of dissecting this heterogeneity is to apply latent class (LC) analysis to measurements related to the diagnosis, such as detailed symptoms, to define more homogeneous disease sub-types,

## Abstract An omnibus permutation test of the overall null hypothesis can be used to assess the association of an entire ensemble of genetic markers with disease in case‐control studies. In this approach, __p__‐values for univariate marker‐specific Armitage trend tests are combined to form a scala
