β¦ Synopsis
Device for optically exciting XeF and other rare gas excited complexes. (USA) -A device is described in which Xe is onticallv numned (147 nm) and reacted with NFB to form XeF. The same apparatus can be used to pump Kr and Ar and thereby form excited rare gas halides, oxides and sulphides. The device is small, allowing repetitive pulsing and signal averaging techniques to be used.

refrigeration power. Q' is linearly proportional to temperature difference AT = T o -T, where T o is the setting temperature and T is the actual temperature. For small AT, the input of the regulator Vi q is proportional to AT. IC-1 transforms Vin to (Vin + Vo)Β½ due to the square characteristic of di
word of caution may be in order. The ratio of the densities of the liquid to that of the gas is much lower for helium than for other fluids for equilibrium conditions at the same pressure. This might require that the quality term in the expression using mixture properties be modified or, if not, les
