✦ Synopsis

A new automated apparatus for recording movement and rearing of rats in the open field method has been produced using electronic techniques. This equipment permits the evaluation of depressant and excitatory actions of drugs on the GNS. Having observed that the rat always supported itself against the walls of the chamber on rearing, automatic recording of this activity was developed.
