โฆ Synopsis
This study investigated the relationship between repression-sensitization and maladjustment. Differences between sensitizers, repressors and neutrals were examined on a measure of incompatible need strength. Sensitizers were found to have significantly higher incompatible need scores than repressors while neutrals do not differ significantly from either group. An examination of the particular need pairs indicated that sensitizers have significantly higher incompatible need scores than repressors on succorance-nurturance and antonomy-abasement. Neutrals differed significantly from repressors on the same two pairs with neutrals receiving the higher scores. Neutrals and sensitizers did not differ on any of the need pairs. REFERENCES 1.
