✦ Synopsis
T
he focus of this work is to analyse the data available from the training sessions of Olympic cyclists. Pedal forces and torques were measured at key anatomical landmarks placed on the legs. Using this data, we developed an interactive animation system depicting only the lower legs. The animation system also estimates the rotation of the tibia. The rotation of the tibia is believed to be directly related to knee injuries, which is most common among cyclists. We have developed several measures for predicting knee injuries and preventing them. To visualize and compare the motion of both legs, a variety of motion graphs have been provided. These graphs were used for evaluating and comparing the pedaling effectiveness of cyclists.
