✦ Synopsis


Numerical integration is widely used for the computation of stiness matrices in the ®nite element method (FEM). However, for simple cases such as the upright prismatic element such procedures are obviated by using an analytical method, thus reducing the computation burden. In this paper, the analytical stiness matrices for both the ®rst-and second-order upright triangular prismatic elements are derived.
