A method based on the principle of the Method of Weighted Residuals for evaluating the roughness-length (zn) and zero-plane displacement (d) is presented. This method not only can minimize errors involved during the calculation process but can also smooth and re-distribute the already minimized erro

β¦ Synopsis
The values of roughness length for momentum za and zero-plane displacement da over a hilly rough complex region with vegetation were evaluated without any assumption concerning to and de. It was found that for widely scattered profile data, the method of least squares will not give a reasonable result in determining the roughness parameters. For this purpose, the method of maximum correlation was introduced instead. This method gave a fair result for captive balloon observations conducted in hilly terrain mainly covered with forest in the northwestern part of the Kanto Plain, Japan.

A method has been developed for the determination of propoxur, a carbamate pesticide, by means of its reaction with p-aminophenol (PAP). The method involves the reaction, in the presence of KIO,, between the quinoneimine form of PAP and the deprotonated form of 2-isopropoxyphenol, obtained by the al
