AbstractรA dynamic mathematical model is proposed to investigate the hydrodynamic stability of natural circulation two-phase ยฏow in a high performance thermosyphon with tube separator. A typical instability map for dierent tube separator diameters is made using the numerical solution of governing equations. The simulation results show that the operating temperature, the heat rate and thermosyphon inclination angle have signiยฎcant inยฏuence on the ยฏow instability. The analysis approach can be extended to wider parameter ranges as well as various tube separator lengths and thermosyphon geometries.
