Aspects of the reproductive biology of the two species of clupeids known to occur in Lake Kainji, Pellonula afzeliusi Johnels and Sierrathrissa leonensis Thys Van Den Audenaerde were studied for a period of twenty eight months . Mature individuals were found in both species all the year round but wi
