β¦ Synopsis
Generation system models are used in single-area, multi-area, and composite system reliability studies. The smaller the number of states, the fewer will be the calculations involved in computing the reliability indices. This paper describes a new method of rounding off to reduce the number of states in the generation system model without sacrificing the accuracy. The accuracy and efficiency are studied using three sample systems.
