✦ Synopsis

Generation system models are used in single-area, multi-area, and composite system reliability studies. The smaller the number of states, the fewer will be the calculations involved in computing the reliability indices. This paper describes a new method of rounding off to reduce the number of states in the generation system model without sacrificing the accuracy. The accuracy and efficiency are studied using three sample systems.

The paper presents an approach to the evaluation of electromechanical transient processes in power systems. On the basis of identification of the physical properties of the system considered, for an adequately chosen time interval, quasilinearization and decomposition of the original system of nonli
