A multilevel method for the solution of sparse linear systems is introduced. The method is defined in terms of the coefficient matrix alone; no underlying PDE or mesh is assumed. An upper bound for the condition number is available for a class of SPD problems. In particular, for certain discretizati

Abstract
We propose a simple algebraic description of the two‐body interactions of bases in RNA thermodynamics showing in detail qualitative equivalence with conventional nearest‐neighbor models. The process of obtaining base content, polymer, and oligomer parameters is illustrated, and for duplexes containing Watson–Crick pairs, fits to oligonucleotide duplex heat‐of‐formation data are shown to be statistically equivalent to existing models. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper describes a finite element numerical model for the simulation of both steady and truly transient turbulent flow in two dimensions. All elements of the model and computational approach were chosen, however, for ease of applicability in the future to fully three-dimensional flows. The turbu
## Abstract We present a base‐pairing model of oligonucleotide duplex formation and show in detail its equivalence to the nearest‐neighbor dimer methods from fits to free energy of duplex formation data for short DNA–DNA and DNA–RNA hybrids containing only Watson–Crick pairs. For completeness, the
We develop an algebraic model of an ad hoc network [9] for mobile computing. The ad hoc network's structure and functionality is based (in our approach) on a pathset algebra. A pathset is the set of all paths in the network having specific source(s) and destination(s). The pathsets' set refers to a
