โœฆ Synopsis

The paper lays the foundations for the design of a programmable controller, capable of handling nonlinear behavior of chemical reactors or other processes, where the model available for their dynamics could be not completely known. We elaborate on results about the approximation of nonlinear systems and their optimal control, and then combine the theoretical conclusions together with numerical strategies for identification, filtering, and updating, which take into account possible changes in the structure or the values of the coefficients of the original system.

AbstrPct--The design and implementation of a new adaptive nonlinear predictive controller is presented using a general nonlinear model and variable transformations. The resulting controller is similar in form to standard linear model predictive controllers and can be tuned analogously. Alternatively

Concerning information access for portable terminals, various methods of managing positional information as well as access methods are considered. Which is the optimum of those methods depends on network conditions, such as the speed of movement of the mobile host and the number of access requests t
