โœฆ Synopsis

This paper describes an active suspension model for rail/vehicle systems based on preview and stochastic optimal control. The vehicle is modelled as a linear system with three degrees of freedom subject to irregular rail inputs which are described by first order systems with Gaussian white random inputs. The velocities of the body of the vehicle, and the irregular rail inputs ahead of the vehicle are in noisy environments and are measured by sensors mounted on the body of the vehicle. The state variables of the rail/vehicle systems are estimated by using a Kalman filter, and the active control is determined by minimizing a given performance index. The numerical example shows the effectiveness of the proposed active suspension with preview control.
