A rigorous mode-matching technique is implemented for the study of the unloaded Q-factor of a dielectric resonator operating in the TM -mode. Numerical results demonstrate the ¨ariation of the 01␦ unloaded Q-factor against geometrical and material parameters. Finally, the accuracy of the calculation

✦ Synopsis
An analytical technique for the determination of the Q factor of a dielectric resonator placed in a suspended substrate en¨ironment is presented in this article. Here, loss due to the conductor and u experimental data a¨ailable for a shielded en¨ironment.

Oscillations in normalized scan impedance across a finite array are much larger for the H-plane scan than for the E-plane scan. Addition of a ground screen further increases the amplitude of the oscillations. A forthcoming article models these in a Gibbs fashion.
