Today's technological demands require challenging control solutions such as real-time applications of Networked Control System (NCS). However, due to communication protocol and shared data bus, NCS experiences uncertain and unpredictable time delays in both input and output channels. These delays ca

β¦ Synopsis
This paper describes a low cost Intel 8052-based digital controller with the facility for real time programming. The controller is suitable for demonstrating the basics of real time programming in the control engineering laboratory. The digital PID algorithm is adopted for the controller. It can control eight plants and 24 logic input and output signals can be monitored. Sampling times, set points and PID parameters may be monitored and altered on site through the keypad without interrupting the plant under control.
