Abstract
The structure and the solute conformation in nonpolar solvents of the title compound have been revealed by high resolution ^1^H‐nmr spectroscopy. The ionophore possesses the typical pseudocyclic conformation of the polyether antibiotics by which the head and tail is held together through H‐bond binding, sequestering the cation from the lipophilic surrounding. The extra sugar like moiety (ring G,) seems not to participate in cation coordination.
