Animated Acetal Glysocides as Competitive Inhibitors of α‐D‐Glucosidase from Yeast

Previously synthesized [(S)‐2‐bromo‐1‐methoxyethyl] and [(R)‐2‐bromo‐1‐methoxyethyl] α‐D‐glucopyranoside (1a) and (2a), respectively, are suitable substrates for α‐glucosidase from yeast. Substitution of bromine in 1a and 2a for an amino group turns the substrates into the competitive inhibitors [(S)‐2‐amino‐1‐methoxyethyl] and [(R)‐2‐amino‐1‐methoxyethyl] α‐D‐glucopyranoside (1b) and (2b), respectively
