The American School Achievement Tests are a series of batteries which purport to measure pupil achievement, primarily in the areas of language arts and arithmetic. Together the batteries go from first semester grade 1 to the end of grade 9.

The Primary Battery 1 (grade 1) consists of three tests: word recognition, word meaning, and numbers. It is administered in two sittings of 25 and 10 minutes each, including instructions.
