โฆ Synopsis
Today, as perhaps never before, there exists what is almost a "national movement" aimed at phasing out the existing correctional institutions that house our adjudicated youthful offenders, and replacing them with smaller, more communitybased facilities variously called Halfway Houses, Group Home, or Residential Youth Centers. We are moving away from a "punitive" model of corrections, toward one which will focus much greater attention on "rehabilitation", more than likely from a predominantly "clinical" perspective. What this means is that the development of these community-based alternatives to incarceration will inevitably bring clinical and community psychology into greater proximity and involvement with the criminal justice system as a whole, and adjudicated youthful offenders in particular.
