## Abstract The enantioselective synthesis of methyl (__R__)‐mandelate and methyl (__R__)‐__o__‐chloromandelate was investigated using an NADH‐dependent carbonyl reductase from __Thermus thermophilus__ (TtADH) and, separately, archaeal glucose dehydrogenase and __Bacillus stearothermophilus__ alcoh
