## Abstract Muscular dystrophies are characterized by continuous cycles of degeneration and regeneration that result in extensive fibrosis and a progressive diminution of muscle mass. Cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycans are found almost ubiquitously on the surface and in the extracellular ma
