Received in USA 28 IQy 1971; received in UK for publication 26 July 1971) C. humilis L. (Euphorbiaceae), a West Indian shrub, has been shown to contain 2-methyl-2--butenoic acid2, N-methyl-2-(p-hydroxyphenyl) ethylamine (N-methyltyramine), N-methyl-3-(p-hydroxyphenyl) butylamine (N-methylhomotyramine) and two other compounds, C18H27N303 and C35H51N07 of unknown structures.
