✦ Synopsis
The close botanical relation of the
Apocynaceae genera A@osperma and Vallesia is also supported by the isolation from Vollesia dichotama of the typical Aspidosperma alkaloids aspidospermine3 and vallesin4 (N-formyl-Ndaacetylaspidospennine). A third base accompanying these two knownolkaloids dichotamine, was assigned4 theempirical formula C 21_22H24_26N204. Insufficient material was avail2 able for further chemical studies, but infrared spectroscopic measurements suggested the presence of o ?'-loctone grouping. Wh'l I e a remarkable variety of different structural types has been isolated5 from Aspidosperma species, no la&one has as yet For part XLI see C.
