✦ Synopsis

Sz(B -X) chelnilurninescence, primarily from V' = 0 and 1, has been observed in alkali atom-SC12 reactions.

The addition of tie or Ar buffer gas to the reaction chamber alters the reaction dynamics, and at certain buffer gas pressures the S2 emission originates esclusively from the U' = 6-9 vibrational levels of the Bc3Z;) state.

An estimation of population inversion for the (0 0 0 1) and (1 0 0 0) states of the CO2 molecule in the Earth's atmosphere is presented. The evaluation shows the inversion to occur near a height of 95 -100 km in daytime. The principal source of the (0 0 0 1) state pumping is the absorption of solar

We measure the fluorescence decays for low-lying rotational states in the first eight vibrational levels of HCO B 2.aL Some long-lived decays exhibit weak quantum beats that we attribute to a higher-order hyperfine perturbation in the 13 state. We estimate fluorescence quantum yields by combining me
