✦ Synopsis

23Na. 85Rb and 87Rb NMR experiments prove the existence of positive and negative spin densities at alkali metal nuclei in alkali-aromatic radical ion pairs. Line-width measurements show that the <*idth of the 85Rb NMR line is determined bsr quadrupolar relaxation, while for 8711b and 23Na also dipolar mechanisms play a significant role.
