✦ Synopsis

High quality single crystals of BaFe 2 As 2 doped with aliovalent ions either out-of or in the basal plane of FeAs, namely hole-doped Ba 1Γ€x K x Fe 2 As 2 and BaFe 2Γ€x Mn x As 2 , or electron-doped BaFe 2Γ€x M x As 2 (M = Co and Ni), were grown using self-flux method. By inducing a ''seed" in melt during growth large crystal sized up to /40 Γ‚ 5 mm was obtained. The phase diagrams showing spin density wave (SDW) and superconducting transitions were established based on the resistivity and magnetic susceptibility data.
