โœฆ Synopsis

Let a be an ordered collection consisting of m points and n lines, m รพ n $ 6; in three-dimensional space. Let b be an ordered collection consisting of m points and n lines, m รพ n $ 6; in two-dimensional space. Using a and b; we construct a matrix Mรฐa; bรž and, then, give two algorithms for determining whether b is an image of a taken with a pinhole camera. These algorithms apply to any configuration, degenerate or not, consisting of points and lines. The first algorithm depends on the calculation of the nullspace of Mรฐa; bรž and gives necessary and sufficient conditions for b to be an image of a; if the data can be read exactly. The second algorithm depends only on the rank of Mรฐa; bรž and can be used if errors arise in reading the data; this algorithm also gives equations which any image of a must satisfy. In the special case m รพ n ยผ 6; there is a single equation Jรฐa; bรž ยผ 0 which must hold if b is an image of a: We show that Jรฐa; bรž is simply the determinant of Mรฐa; bรž: We conclude with a discussion of some computational aspects of the theory.

In this work a concept of index of a point of a 3-D (26, 6) digital image is defined. Basing on this concept a new characterization of the so-called simple points [1] as well as an algorithm for computing Euler characteristics of 3-D (26, 6) digital pictures is proposed.

Efficient and robust model-based recognition systems need to be able to estimate reliably and quickly the possible locations of other model features in the image when a match of several model points to image points is given. Errors in the sensed data lead to uncertainty in the computed pose of the o

Point-based registration of images strongly depends on the extraction of suitable landmarks. Recently, different 3D operators have been proposed in the literature for the detection of anatomical point landmarks in 3D images. In this paper, we investigate nine 3D differential operators for the detect
