Abstract
Many patients with essential tremor (ET) report transient improvement of symptoms after drinking alcohol. However, the brief duration of action, subsequent rebound, and the risk of developing alcohol addiction make the use of alcohol as a treatment for ET inappropriate. Whether excessive alcohol consumption is a risk for or a consequence of ET has been a subject of some controversy. In this review, we critically examine the mechanism of action of alcohol and its role in ET and other movement disorders. Β© 2010 Movement Disorder Society

## Abstract Mirror movements (MM), which occur in ageβrelated neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease (PD), have never been studied in essential tremor (ET). The objective of this work is to study the prevalence and clinical correlates of MM in ET cases and controls. In a clinicalβep
Even though essential tremor (ET) is the most prevalent movement disorder, there has been little agreement in the neurologic literature regarding diagnostic criteria for ET. The authors attempted to determine the extent and source of agreement and disagreement among neurologists regarding diagnostic
## Abstract Essential tremor is the most common movement disorder, typically characterized by the presence of both postural and kinetic tremor of the hand. In recent studies, we described the effects of altering force and load conditions on tremor amplitude and power in people with essential tremor
## Abstract We examined the influence of maintaining different postural configurations of the upper extremity on the magnitude of tremor in patients with essential tremor and with postural tremor from a variety of other neurological disorders. Patients maintained postures requiring different angles
