Arkema invests in acrylic acid; expands Orgasol powders Arkema will expand the acrylic acid capacity of its 240,000 tonne/y unit at Carling, France by 15%, with completion slated by the end of 2006. The company will also carry out a two-phase expansion project to increase its Orgasol ultrafine polyamide powders capacity by 40%, at its site in Mont, France. The initial phase of the project is slated for completion in May 2006, and the second phase will start up in Feb 2007. Arkema's ultrafine polyamide powders are principally used in coatings for applications in the furniture, flooring, automobile and aerospace sectors.
