โฆ Synopsis
Air Pressure Warning Switch.--In order to comply with a regulaJ:ion by the Interstate Highway Commission, to become effective June 30, 195g, the Stewart-Warner Corporation has developed an air pressure warning switch of the type that will become mandatory equipment on every bus, truck and truck-tractor equipped with air brake systems. The regulation provides that "every truck, bus and truck-tractor equipped with an air brake system shall be provided with either an audible or visible warning signal to indicate readily to the driver any loss or lack of air sufficient to prevent the vehicle from being stopped. A gauge indicating pressure shall not be deemed to be an adequate means of satisfying this requirement." The new warning switch closes the circuit when air pressure drops below 60 pounds and either lights a multi-facet red lens or sounds a buzzer mounted on the panel within easy vision and hearing of the driver. It is easily installed by connecting a "T" fitting into the air line leading to the panel gauge.
