Heating and ventilation

A comprehensive range of heating and ventilating programs developed on the IBM CALL/360 Timesharing service are now to be marketed exclusively by Allen Computer Services Ltd. HCVS is a suite of programs written in Basic for solving heating and ventilation problems. It is available for sale, hire or bureau use and can be run on an IBM 360 using CALL 360 or on GE 635 with Honeywell MklI timesharing.

SIZH1 is a general program sizing the pipework distribution in heating systems. In multi-storey systems involving geometrical or thermal repetition only one need be detailed. Geometrical and mechanical details of the piping are provided together with a listing of heat outputs, temperature drops and materials.

SIZH2 is a cost optimization program. Piping sizes are evaluated for site mains and district heating schemes and the optimum cost is determined by balancing full facilities against pumping and installation costs.
