โฆ Synopsis

patients with ankylosing spondylitis, 7 were reported to have glomerulonephritis (5). Changes in kidney parenchyma involving vessels and glomeruli, as well as deposits of immunoglobuhs and complement, have been demonstrated in some cases of ankylosing spondylitis, but none of the patients had albuminuria (8,9).
We have not been able to find much information on patients with SSA syndrome presenting with proteinuria and pedal edema in which kidney involvement seems to be an immune complex type of glomerulonephritis. We suggest that patients with seronegative spondylarthritis syndrome should be carefully screened for proteinuria. If present, these individuals should be tested further.
