As a former Kansan, now living in Arkansas, I appreciated the scholarly yet engaging manner in which you discussed our home state. I was particularly interested to learn the existence of magazines from my home town (Wichita) that I did not previously know about.
I hope your article will convince many people that Kansas is not the barren, lifeless, windswept emptiness that is usually depicted in the media. Your wonderful article did much to contribute to a reevaluation of the state's literary production and will hopefully promote a needed interest in the state's scenic yet subtle beauties.
