Avian vocal control regions of adult male songbirds contain opioid peptides and receptors, suggesting that opioids play a role in avian vocal behavior control. In a previous study, we found no difference in opioid receptor densities in singing versus nonsinging adult male dark-eyed juncos (Junco hye

Abstract
To determine whether differences in LDLr behavior in extra‐hepatic tissues and whether extra‐hepatic receptors could differentially contribute to cholesterol homeostasis under physiological conditions, we evaluated the presence and regulation of LDLr from both a gender and an aging perspective. We used the brain cortex, the gastrocnemius, and the heart ventricle of 3‐ and 12‐month‐old male and female rats. We observed a protein decrease of total LDLr in 12‐month‐old female rat brains that was completely restored by 17‐β estradiol treatment. In the gastrocnemius, LDLr accumulates in the skeletal muscle in both male and female aged rats as a precursor probably due to a glycosylation impairment. In the heart, no modifications were observed in either older rats or rats of a specific gender. These data highlight a tissue‐specific dysregulation of LDLr that is age‐ and gender‐dependent. J. The initial binding of Hepatitis C virus (HCV) to the cell membrane is a critical determinant of pathogenesis. Two putative HCV receptors have been identified, CD81 and low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLr). CD81 interacts in vitro with the HCV E2 envelope glycoprotein, and LDLr interacts with HCV
Low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein (LRP) participates in the uptake and degradation of several ligands implicated in neuronal pathophysiology including apolipoprotein E (apoE), activated ␣ 2 -macroglobulin (␣ 2 M\*) and -amyloid precursor protein (APP). The receptor is expressed in a
We found that the binding of lzS1-low-density lipoprotein to fetal liver low-density lipoprotein receptor rose progressively with the increase in fetal age. During this period, total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol levels in fetal serum declined significantly. The correlation coe
## Abstract The low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 1 (LRP1) is known as an endocytic and signal transmission receptor. We formerly reported the gene expression and the localization of LRP1 in cartilage tissue and chondrocytes, but its roles in the differentiation of chondrocytes remai
