✦ Synopsis

i'he perturbed gamma-gamma directional correlation function has been measured for the 356 keV-81 k&J cascade decay of '33Cs in glycerol at 295 K and 265 K. Fourier analysis of the data gives time-averaged quadrupole interaction frequencies of 500 MHz and 1700 hlHz. The interaction is shown to be due to the highly excited Cs ion electron shell caused by the electron capture decay of U3Ba.
