โฆ Synopsis
Using the atomic force microscope (AFM) and orientation imaging microscopy (OIM), slip deformation of polycrystalline copper under cyclic loading was studied. It was found that under cyclic load the operating slip systems of coarse grains in polycrystalline copper are consistent with the Schmids law of single crystal. The micro-strain of the sample surface was compared with its corresponding macro-strain (of the whole sample), and the loading effect on the deformation was analyzed.
