1 RHP is an abbreviation (BARTSe]t and KAMEN 1958) for Rhodospirillum hemo protein or for Rhodopseudomonas hemo protein. Unfortunately this substance has been found in genera which do not begin with R. In the past it has been termed "yellow pigment" and "pseudohemoglobin'.
