Turbulence and vortex structures in rota
✍ Claude Cambon πŸ“‚ Article πŸ“… 2001 πŸ› Elsevier Science 🌐 English βš– 914 KB

Linear and nonlinear structuring effects caused by Coriolis force and/or buoyancy force/density stable stratification are surveyed and discussed in this article. Its main part, which reports on theoretical, experimental and numerical results, illustrates what can be explained from classic approaches

Nonextensivity in turbulence in rotating
✍ Charles N Baroud; Harry L Swinney πŸ“‚ Article πŸ“… 2003 πŸ› Elsevier Science 🌐 English βš– 332 KB

Our experiments on turbulent flow in a rotating annulus yield probability distribution functions (PDFs) for velocity increments Ξ΄v( ), where is the separation between points. We fit these PDFs to a form derived for turbulent flows by Beck, who used the Tsallis nonextensive statistical mechanics form
