โœฆ Synopsis

This letter highlights recent standardization efforts in the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) related to policy enforcement and management in mobile networks with Web-based interfaces. A prime objective of these efforts is to define specifications for a policy management capability that exposes service enablers in a controlled and manageable way to clients within the mobile services environment. We describe the functional concepts that are being considered by OMA for such a capability and outline an approach that may be used to unify these with Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF)-based policy concepts.
