Igus has developed a maintenance-free polymer bearing material called Iglidur M250. It features a solid lubricant emb e d d e d t h r o u g h o u t the wall thickness of the bearing, thus e n s u r i n g t h a t l u b r i c a t i o n is consistent, even in the event of significant bearing wear.

A vast range of s t a n d a r d sizes is available ex stock, providing i n t e r c h a n g e a b i l i t y with conventional oil-filled sintered and s t e e l -b a c k e d PTFE type plain bearings.

In addition to its dry running s e l S l u b r i c a t i n g c h a r a c t e r i s t i c , the thick wails of Iglidur M250 provide excellent d a m p e n i n g of vibration, 250 times better t h a n steel. Impact resistance is high and bearings can run in aggressive environments, dust, sand and dirt.

Unlike other types of bearings, l g l i d u r M250 r e m a i n s quiet in operation t h r o u g h o u t its life. Slow r o t a t i o n a l and oscillating motions do not adversely affect the material.

Although the range of standard Iglidur M250 is extensive, Igus can produce special sizes.
