✦ Synopsis
Adsorption of sodium tridecane sulfonate from aqueous 1 M KCl solutions was studied by alternate current polarography and adsorptive stripping voltammetry. The coexistence of two adsorbed states including one compact adsorbed form was confirmed. Desorption of both adsorbed forms proceeds at potentials differing by approximately 0.2 V. Stripping voltammograms yield two overlapping desorption peaks. Adsorption and desorption processes, including the shape of voltammograms, can be simulated by Monte-Carlo methods.
