β¦ Synopsis
In recent years many adsorbents have been investigated for the purpose of use for treatment of wastewaters.' Adsorption on ion exchange resins provides a technique for purification of municipal and industrial wastewaters?-4 In the preceding paper: the adsorption of fatty acid sodium salts from aqueous solution onto ion exchange resins such as Amberlite IRA94 and IRA68 was studied. The present study describes the adsorption equilibrium of sodium alkyl sulfates with various carbon numbers onto ion exchange resins (PVP and PVPCS) derived from 4-vinylpyridine in aqueous solution to obtain precise information about the treatment of wastewaters containing detergents.

Phenolic Schiff bases derived from o-, m-, and p-hydroxybenzaldehydes and 4, 4Π-diaminodiphenyl ether were subjected to polycondensation reaction with formaldehyde. The resins were found to form polychelates readily with several metal ions. The materials were characterized by elemental analysis, GPC
