The adsorption of CO on Pt ( I 11) and Pt ( 100) single crystal surfaces in an aqueous acid solution was studied by IRRAS and CV. On-top and bridge-bonded CO species adsorbed on Pt( I 11) and Pt( 100) electrodes were detected.

We have characterized the adsorption of Co(II) on the (0001) and (11 02) surfaces of โฃ-Al 2 O 3 single crystals under ambient conditions using polarization-dependent grazing-incidence X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy, in combination with bond valence modeling. Co(II) ions were found to b
