Analysis of 13C NMR spectra of carob-agarose binary gels shows evidence for interaction and intermolecular binding. The signals of C-l, C-4-C-5, and C-6 suggested the existence of three kinds of galactomannan chains. The first one, having a low content of galactose, was strongly bound and immobile.
