โœฆ Synopsis

Experimental evidence supporting an adsorptional mechanism for the reduction of friction drag in the turbulent pipe flow of dilute solutions of a polyoxyethylene in water has been obtained in the form of adsorption measurements, measurements indicating increased additive concentrations at the pipe wall, and additive axial dispersion measurements. An analytical method used to determine very low concentrations of polyoxyethylene in water (2-100 ppm) is reported.
