Sam and Cody have settled into married life, living in their dream home, and are more in love than ever. There is just one thing missing from their lives to make their home complete: A baby to share their love with.
Adoption is difficult enough, but the struggles and hardship of trying to adopt as a gay couple may be too much for the men to handle. When a series of setbacks leaves both men with broken hearts and wounded souls, it will take a Christmas miracle to give Sam and Cody the strength to give adoption one more try.
Adore is book three in what I like to call the 'Sam and Cody series'. Not very orginial, I know, but no other name fit as well. Each of the short stories in the series follows a key moment in their lives as a couple. In Want Sam and Cody start to fall in love with each other. In Cherish we join Sam and Cody on their honeymoon. And now in Adore we are a part of Sam and Cody's life as they struggle to adopt. I set the story around the holidays because we all feel the pressure, both good and bad, to get together with our extended families and celebrate. 'Cause that's what I think Christmas is about. All religion, politics, and whoo haa aside Christmas gives you the opportunity to tell your Great Uncle Saul that you love him, even though he has dementia and thinks your a petunia.
But I digress....
While you don't have to read the books in order, just like anything else if you have the back-story it makes everything just a little bit better.
What started out as just one story has grown into three with more on the way. I never thought Sam and Cody would stick with me the way they have. I find myself wondering what they're up to, like I can just pick up a phone and give them a call. Hey, no one ever said authors are sane. ;)
