✦ Synopsis

A new approach to solving the track finding problem is proposed. The method is based on discrete projective transformations (DPT), the least square fitting (LSF) and uses information feedback in tracing for linear or quadratic track segments (TS). A recurrent algorithm is suggested which is fast and stable with respect to measurement errors and background points. The algorithm realizes a family of digital adaptive filters (AFF) with known nonlinear weight functions: Projective invariants. APF can be used in adequate control systems for collection, processing and compression of data, including tracking problems for a wide class of detectors.
